NAME

logr - logfile helper function

SYNOPSIS

logr NAMESPACE MESSAGE
logr [-l | -e] NAMESPACE MESSAGE
logr [-d] NAMESPACE

DESCRIPTION

Output to a logfile located in $HOME/.alf/logr. The NAMESPACE argument is appended to the name of the logfile.

-l

Append a MESSAGE to a logfile for a given NAMESPACE.

-e

Append a MESSAGE to an error logfile for a given NAMESPACE.

-d

Delete the log and error logfile for a given NAMESPACE.

--help

Display this help and exit.

EXAMPLES

Log a message to a logfile named foobar (saves to $HOME/.alf/logr/foobar.log):

logr -l foobar "Logging foobar message"  

You can optionally choose to pass no OPTION which is equivalent to logr -l:

logr foobar "Logging foobar message"  

Log an error message to a logfile named foobar (saves to $HOME/.alf/logr/error-foobar.log):

logr -e foobar "Logging foobar message"  

Delete all foobar logfiles (deletes $HOME/.alf/logr/foobar.log and $HOME/.alf/logr/error-foobar.log):

logr -d foobar
